The Tom & Jerry show

What’s your favorite cartoon?

some cartoons fade with time, but Tom and Jerry never did. Long before streaming, smart phone, or endless choices, this simple battle between a clever mouse, and a determined cat taught me something rare. You don’t always need words to tell a powerful story. As a kid, I was drawn to the chaos, the crashes, the chases, the over-the-top reactions that made you laugh before you even understood why. But as I got older, I realized Tom and Jerry wasn’t just slapstick comedy. It was art. Every moment mattered. Every pose was intentional. Every episode was a perfectly calm dance between rivalry and respect. What made the cartoon special was is silence. No long explanations. No heavy dialogue. Just music, expression, and motion. That forced you to pay attention. You had to read emotions, anticipate outcomes, and understand the joke without being told when to laugh. In a world that constantly talks over itself, Tom and Jerry trusted the viewer to fill the moment. Tom was never just a villain, and Jerry was never just a hero. Sometimes you rooted for the cat. Sometimes she cheered for the mouse. Other times, you watched them team up against the bigger problem, reminding you, the enemies can become allies when it matters most. That balance made the show feel real, even in its absurdity. There was also something comforting about its predictability. You knew chaos was coming, but you didn’t know how. That anticipation, waiting for the piano to drop or the trap to fail, created joy. It was familiar without being boring, creative without being complicated. As an adult, I appreciate the craftsmanship even more. The animation was detailed. The music carried the emotion. The timing was flawless. Every episode was proof that creativity doesn’t require access just intention. In many ways, Tom and Jerry reflects life itself, constant struggles, unexpected twisted, and the resilience to keep going no matter how many times you get knocked down, but most of all, Tom and Jerry represents a simpler time. Saturday mornings. A bowl of cereal. Laughter without effort. It’s a reminder of when entertainment didn’t rush you or demand anything in return. It just showed up and made you smile. That’s why it remains My favorite cartoon. Not because it’s loud or flashy, but because it understands something timeless the best stories don’t shout. They move.
